hulu: Welcome, officially, to Hulu’s Tumblr. We’ll be trying to help you navigate this jungle of memes and viral VHS tapes from 1997. We, too, are here to share movie posters that feature skulls with cornstalks for hair. We’re here to talk about how to write love letters on…  This is instantly my favorite corporate Tumblr due to gratuitous and shameless usage of Simpsons...

– Primo Levi I watched “Into the Wild” last night and, despite the main character’s complete and utter lack of common sense, enjoyed all of it. I’m excited to read the book.  I heard this quote in the movie, and apparently it’s attributed to this guy.

philolzophy: People Can Change. I used to think it was always true that people don’t change. I still think its true that you shouldn’t expect them to, but changing isn’t really that difficult. I got into this huge, devastating fight with one of my friends. While there was a lot of facets to it, the most…

dangerguerrero: I have been tearing through longreads at a manic pace over the holidays. One I stumbled across yesterday was John Jeremiah Sullivan’s 2005 GQ piece on life after “The Real World” for the kids the show thrusts into a surreal form of kinda-stardom, centered around Mike from the New York season… I would also like to procreate with this paragraph

shoutsandmumbles: Usually I am not a fan of New Year’s Resolutions. It is just 1 more thing that I want to do and then get distracted (that happens pretty easily). alisonagosti: ‘Tis the season! [more NaNoWriMo short fiction. This is more or less a continuation of a past post] If there’s one thing you should remember about heading to a college bar after you’re a graduate, it’s this: you never come out of it thinking that it was a great idea. This was especially true of O’Grady’s, a bar notorious for its dark interior and its strong drinks. O’Grady’s gave out Dum-Dum suckers to help quell...

At the end of the day, I’m still a marketing nerd. Because I also love TV, TV ratings and the demographics/psychographics are interesting to me.  It’s no surprise to me that NBC’s Thursday shows (sans Whitney) are among the top shows with the greatest concentration of people 18-49 with four years or more of college. Raw data is interesting, but misleading in the wrong hands....

Remembrance →
It’s easy to forget that tomorrow is Veteran’s Day, to see it as just another Friday or just another reminder that winter is one day closer. It’s a holiday many people throw aside because the closest they’ve ever been to war is watching Forrest Gump or Saving Private Ryan. I’m as guilty as everyone else. We’re flawed because we don’t spend enough time...
